Ph.D. Student Tanzina Akther Awarded Grant to Attend International Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry

Tanzina Akther was awarded a travel grant to participate in the 2022 joint International Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Air Pollution (iCACGP) and the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) International Science Conference. The conference was held September 10-15 in Manchester, UK, and the IGAC Early Career Short Course (EC-SC) was September 8-10.

Tanzina Akther The iCACGP-IGAC Conference is a quadrennial event. It is the leading global atmospheric chemistry conference, attracting approximately 600 international scientists, industry leaders, and early career researchers from around the world. IGAC and iCACGP both strongly encourage global collaboration and welcome participants from across the globe to attend.

The Early Career Short Course is designed to build international networks for a small group of selected early career atmospheric chemists. Airfare and accommodations during the conference and short course were covered by the IGAC Project.

Akther was also selected as a member of the first-ever iCACGP-IGAC Early Career Scientific Steering Committee formed in 2023. The committee’s goal is to develop new ways for early career atmospheric chemistry researchers to interact, grow their networks, and connect with the wider global IGAC Network.
