Geology Undergraduate Jarely Mendez Wins Research Fellowship with the National Energy Technology Laboratory
Mendez worked on developing a catalog and database to support modeling risks associated with geologic carbon storage in the Illinois Basin.
Doctoral Student Ruby Patterson Wins College-Level Three-Minute Thesis Competition
Her talk, “The Cosmic Library,” focused on her research in planetary geology.
Recent Ph.D. Graduate Sriharsha Thoram Studies True Polar Wander on IODP Expedition in Southern Atlantic Ocean
The project sought better understanding of the development of the Walvis Ridge, formed as the African plate drifted over the Tristan-Gough hotspot.
